At Porch Light, we’re all about creating opportunities for young performers to share their creativity, confidence, and collaboration with the community. One of the most magical ways we do that is through our interactive, immersive productions, like our annual Enchanted show.

Performed by our Youth Performance Troupe (YPT) students, Enchanted is a family-friendly, live theatre-in-the-woods experience at Thielke Arboretum in Glen Rock. Children and their adult chaperones wander through the arboretum in small groups, encountering mini-scenes that spark imagination and invite participation. It’s not just a performance, it’s a chance for young artists to connect directly with their community through storytelling and shared experiences.

Opportunities to Perform for the Community

Through shows like Enchanted, Porch Light students:

• Bring stories to life for real audiences, creating magical experiences for families and visitors
• Collaborate creatively with peers to craft engaging and memorable performances
• Build confidence through shared experiences, seeing the immediate impact of their work on the community
• Explore multiple roles behind the scenes, from acting to stage management to creative design, contributing to the success of a community event

After the arboretum adventure, students and families participate in craft activities and interactive experiences, reinforcing that theatre is about connection, creativity, and engagement — not just performance.

Returning This Fall

Enchanted is coming back to Thielke Arboretum on October 11, 2025! This is our 3rd annual production, produced by Porch Light and performed by the YPT Junior II Company.
